CORPSE BRIDE

In the wake of a disastrous wedding rehearsal, Victor Van Dort stumbles into the woods to practice his vows meant for his bride to be, Victoria. He even goes so far as to place the wedding ring meant for her, onto a tree root. Victor does the vows so perfectly that the tree root grabs hold of him. The root reveals itself as the decaying corpse of a woman wearing the tattered remains of a wedding gown which belongs to The Corpse Bride.

While Victor is missing, Victoria's parents have chosen to marry her off to a dubious distant relative, Barkis Bittern. When Victor returns with the Corpse Bride in tow, Victoria watches in horror. Realizing that Victor belongs with Victoria, the Corpse Bride lets him go and accepts that he is not part of her destiny. As the Corpse Bride leaves the church, she turns one last time and throws her bouquet to Victoria.

Maggot, the worm resides behind the Corpse Bride's right eye. He is the conscience in the Bride's head making sure she takes the right path. Maggot is constantly telling her that Victor will leave her, as he is really not dead.

When the Van Dorts come to the home of the Everglots for a proper introduction and a wedding rehearsal, Victor so clumsily botches his wedding vows that Pastor Galswells cancels the rehearsal, refusing to marry Victor and Victoria.

Bonejangles, top hat wearing song-and-dance (dead)man who serves as an entertaining storyteller in the Land of the Dead, is voiced by the very talented Danny Elfman - who also provided the memorable singing voice of Jack Skellington in the classic "The Nightmare Before Christmas"

The arachnid friend of the Corpse Bride herself, comforts her during her greatest times of need, when she has been betrayed by one man or another from the Land of the Living!

Recreating the moment when Victor Van Dort places the wedding ring for his bride-to-be onto the Corpse Bride, mistaking her arm for a root from a nearby tree. Now betrothed to a woman from the Land of the Dead, Victor has to escape from the madness to return to his world to figure out how to fix this situation, while still preparing himself for married life!
